Job Profile

The Manager or Engineering Services is responsible for the day-to-day operation and long term planning of the Engineering Services Division. Including foundation design, welding engineering, structural engineering, welding inspection, calibration programs, R&D and technical business development.

Job Duties

  • Manage engineering projects throughout the entire lifecycle
  • Implement detailed plans and recommend procedures for specific requirements
  • Ensure client’s expectation of on-time delivery of technically sound, quality deliverables are consistently met across the division
  • Provide technical and functional expertise to help clients reach project goals
  • Manage project start-up, permits and engineering management process
  • Empowers the team to develop innovative engineering approaches and solutions
  • Manage funding, schedules, project scope requirements, project deliverables, etc
  • Oversees the document management process to ensure that client documents and records are tracked and securely managed subject to document management protocols
  • Provide technical reviews for completed work using expertise and providing recommendations for improvements and/or resolving issues or concerns
  • Approves final client deliverables
  • Promotes a safety leadership culture and strives to ensure that all project leaders and managers uphold the principles of a positive safety culture
  • Acts as an industry representative at national level forums, associations and conferences

Qualifications

  • Sc. or a more advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Structural, Mechanical or Civil)
  • Extensive experience in at least two of the following disciplines: deep foundation design, welding engineering, structural engineering, geomatics, quality assurance, quality control
  • Exposure to multi-disciplinary environments: engineering, science and technology
  • A strong knowledge of the business and industry and a high level of understanding of current engineering principles and trends in pipeline integrity management
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and/or delivering engineering projects
  • Proven experience in operational planning, organization, and development
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and to apply the appropriate engineering, science and technology solutions
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to direct a multidisciplinary department
