Job Profile

The ideal candidate will have a Journeyman Electrician background with an interest in Control and Automation, as well as the appreciation for the full life cycle of a project; from conceptualizing through installation and testing, to preventative maintenance.

Job Duties

  • Consult manufacturer’s manuals to determine installation, test, and maintenance procedures
  • Inspect and test operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices, and precision measuring instruments
  • Repair and adjust system components such as sensors, transmitters, PLC’s and VFD’s
  • Remove and replace defective parts when required
  • Calibrate components and instruments according to the manufacturers' specifications
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work and complete test and maintenance reports
  • Install control and measurement instruments on existing and new equipment
  • Research and provide troubleshooting solutions and automation improvements/upgrades

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience related to Industrial Electrical and VFD control
  • Ability to read and interpret operating/maintenance manuals and electrical schematics
  • Experience with Industrial PLC’s and Mobile ECU’s such as Sauer Danfoss, Schneider Electric Unity, and Siemens TIA Portal
  • Panel building experience and wiring skills required
  • Registered Journeyman Instrumentation Technician an asset
  • IPC Certification is an asset
